PARTNERDAVID J. SHAFERDavid helped launch the Richardson Group in 2004, and specializes in investment, research, marketing, and sales. He has expertise in advanced market research and data analysis, and enjoys working with investors to identify and capitalize on lucrative real estate investment opportunities. David enjoys community service with area groups focused on protecting and restoring Southwest Florida's natural environment. David was an Eli Lilly Scholar at Wabash College, where he received his BA in Biological Sciences in 1987. He earned a PhD in Ecology from the University of Hawaii in 1998 and has studied at Cornell University and King's College London. David's research examined the effects of environmental change on marine populations, and included work on marine and freshwater populations ranging in habitat from above the Arctic Circle to the Tropical Pacific to the Antarctic Peninsula. He has published more than 20 scientific papers on ecology, a book chapter on advanced statistical analyses, coauthored the first coral reef ecosystem management study for the military in Hawaii, and contributed to work preserving the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands, the world's most isolated and pristine coral reef ecosystem. |
