RICHARDSON GROUP SUPPORTS NATURE CONSERVANCY WITH DONATION (May 2007)

SARASOTA, FL— Richardson Kleiber Walter THE RICHARDSON GROUP, LLC recently made a donation to The Nature Conservancy to support conservation work in southwest Florida. The contribution by The Richardson Group will help the Conservancy in its efforts to promote large-scale landscape protection and encourage landowners to keep their lands in agriculture through conservation easements.

“It is a great honor to support the mission of The Nature Conservancy,” said David Shafer, investment analyst for the Richardson Group. “We challenge others to envision a planet in which the world’s ecosystems can continue to support and sustain its rich diversity of life, including our very own; and, we encourage others to support The Nature Conservancy as the world’s leader in this endeavor.”

Conservation easements keep land in private hands, preserve traditional land uses and protect land for future generations. At the same time, easements offer landowners potential tax benefits if donated, or revenue from the sale of an easement. For more information on conservation easements, please visit: nature.org/floridalandowner.

“Jennifer and I have PhDs in ecology with years spent studying, researching, and teaching. We’ve also worked as environmental consultants to facilitate conservation, restoration, and smart land uses. Now, as real estate brokers, investors, and developers, we can support smart, sustainable land use with a keen understanding about what that really means.”

“We look forward to facilitating collaborative and educational partnerships among scientists, managers, and users through philanthropy and our involvement with smart land use and preservation.  We are thrilled that the Nature Conservancy adopts this same collaborative approach in its efforts to restore and preserve the delicate balance between sustainable ecosystem health and land use,” added Jennifer Shafer a broker for the firm.
